This course offers a course in strategic procurement management, where the course will address the role of the supply and storage function in an organization; purchase management; storage operations management; Use of information and communication technologies to support the logistics and warehousing function. At the conclusion of this course, the participant should be able to: Recognize the role of the logistics and warehousing function in the organization; Understand the mechanisms related to procurement management (stages and procedures of the sourcing process, selection of sources of supply and negotiation with suppliers, secondary sourcing); In addition to understanding the mechanisms related to the warehousing process (receiving and entering warehouses, arranging, classifying and coding inventory), the uses of information and communication technologies to support the supply and warehousing function are defined. The course explores some central concepts and links them to other areas of the company and the changing roles within business. This course provides opportunities to study issues such as: the supplier selection process, supplier relationships, supplier management, and strategic issues.
